Here we go… Yet another hit to Microsoft’s “Internet Explorer” (versions 7 and 8). According to Microsoft malicious software writers are able to write malicious script using VBscript scripting language that can start running when an “F1″ key is pressed while browsing using “Internet Explorer” versions mentioned in the beginning.

A malicious code creates a malicious .hlp file which opens a help window on your screen and this way hackers can access your computer. This threat exists if you are using MS Windows XP with installed service packs (SP2 and SP3), also there is a potential threat to “Windows 2000 (SP4)” and some of “Windows Server 2003″ OS users. However “Vista” and Windows7″ users can stay calm as this threat does not exist to them.

It is still unknown how Microsoft is going to fix this problem. Maybe a fix will be included into a new “Windows update” patch which is due to be released in March 9 this year. Until then users are recommended to use other web browsers to avoid getting into hands of criminals. Maybe it really is time for Windows XP to die?
