Apple iPhone3Gs or Android Phone?
Everyone is raving about smart phones. They are useful, small “things” you probably make phone calls with or play games on or just download new apps that enable your smartphone do pretty much EVERYTHING you would do with your laptop computer. Of course this is amazing to have a small computer in your pocket but which one to choose?
Well, There are two big players in the market at the moment – Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android OS phones. You would ask -” Which one is better?”. And I think i Have an answer to this.
iPhone3Gs – if you can fault the design of this phone than you are fool or you expect something close to impossible and probably something you saw in Sci-Fi movies when you were kid. As it comes to features of a phone, well, here Apple starts slipping up a bit. Firstly – everyone criticized Apple for a lack of Adobe’s ”Flash” support and pretty weak camera (only 3Mpx). Then the usual “stuff” – battery “sealed” in the phone, content download restrictions and etc.
Then I think the weakest point of this phone is the actual “Apple’s App store”. What is that? You would say I’m crazy and don’t know what I’m talking about, maybe, but why Apple is so strict about what kind of content can be submitted. They are saying – “I’ts to protect children from harmful content”, I say It’s a very big meh. For instance – why did they take all adult content apps off their store but left “Playboy” and “Sports illustrated” apps? As if these two cannot harm children, ha.
On the brighter side iPhone has probably one of the best menu control design I’ve ever seen. It is amazingly easy and fun to browse through the menu of this smartphone, multi-touch screen makes it easy to type text. This smartphone can be used as a Media player or a phone, which is not the biggest news in smartphone market, but putting this aside, media player is probably best out of all smartphones…
Google’s Android OS Phones (Android phones) are pretty new smartphones running on this OS. This OS is considered to be the biggest iPhone’s competitor. And there is no wonder why…
Most of new android phones run on the newest Qualcom Snapdragon 1Ghz processor which makes phones applications and menus very snappy. Google is an “Open Source” company which means that everyone can contribute to the development and improvement of Android OS.
From phone design point of view – well, only new upcoming phones look that they are getting somewhere towards being “sexy”. Not paying attention to that android smartphones are pretty interesting and unique.
One of the newest phones released was Google’s Nexus One. It did not become as popular as Google was hoping but it showed that other smartphone manufacturers are not sleeping in the shadow of Apple. Main thing about Android I love is that it is an open source OS.
Android’s app store is less restricted and has more innovative apps. Smartphones come out featuring similar features as iPhone plus it’s own unique features.
In summary – if you want a nice design phone and don’t mind Apple’s restriction policy then choose iPhone. Otherwise – Android OS phone is the future!

Only thing I can say after having played about with both is that the Hero android phone has a lot better feeling touch screen than the iPhone.
I say this meaning that the iPhone seems to feel a touch clunky if you are dragging and dropping something on the screen whereas this problem doesn’t exist as much with the other phone.

Totally agree with you on that. I also think that picture quality on Hero phone is much better than iPhone’s
